This season promises to be a bright one as demonstrated in the 90 spectacular minutes at the theatre of dreams. Ole will be delighted to have fans chanting and believing again as they began in style their quest for a first Premier League title since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Meanwhile…
It was an afternoon of record-setting for the two best players on the pitch as new heights were reached with both players’ contributions.
Bruno Fernandes hit the back of the net three times and in doing so becomes the first Manchester United player to score a hat-trick on the opening day of a league season since Lou Macari vs Birmingham in 1977-78. Also, his hat-trick is the 10th scored on the opening weekend in Premier League history.
Paul Pogba on his part is the eighth Manchester United player to assist three goals in a single Premier League game and the first since Antonio Valencia against Wolves in December 2011. Additionally, The 28-year-old is the 7th different player to register four assists in a single Premier League match, and the first Man Utd player to do so. The Frenchman made just three assists in his 26 league games in total last season.
However, this is the third time Man Utd has had a player score a hat-trick (Fernandes) and had a player provide at least 3 assists (Pogba) in a Premier League game.
United next travel to Southampton in week two of the premier league season.
