“I wish Pitso Mosimane could coach Bafana Bafana,” Motsepe stated on SundayWorld.
“He is my favourite coach and I love him. He will always have a special place in my heart and I will even get the Motsepe Foundation to subsidise his salary. I think he is quality, and quality should not come cheap.”
The CAF president has even offered to personally fund Mosimane’s salary through the Motsepe Foundation.

Legendary former Bafana star Doctor Khumalo believes the national team needs a local coach, while he has hit out at Hugo Broos.

“We don’t have those quality players that are playing in Europe. Let’s face the problem that the level of the PSL is not high enough,” he commented. “Percy Tau is one of the best players in South Africa but he can’t succeed in Al Ahly. This is not good.
“It’s time now to face the real problem. What is the real problem in South Africa? The real problem is that we don’t have those high-quality players,” added Broos. We don’t have those players like our three last opponents – Ghana, France, and Morocco. When you see those teams, Ghana – 90 percent of their players were from Europe.
“France, I don’t have to explain… Morocco, when you see their selection, there was only one player of the Champions League-winning team Wydad Casablanca, which was the goalkeeper – I think that says enough.”
The Bafana Bafana currently progressing through their all-important 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
