CAF Releases Fixtures For Champions League & Confederation Cup

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Friday made the draws for the preliminary stages of both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup for the 2021/22 season.

A lot of interesting fixtures to watch out for in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League.

Former Arsenal, Barcelona and Cameroon international, Alex Song and his team Arta/Solar 7 from Djibouti will square up against Angola Tusker FC. Solar last season broke 40-years jinx to become the Djibouti Premier League champions for the first time in their history. Alex Song, Gabriel from Ghana, Nigerian Akinbinu Samuel and a host of other foreign player made up the Solar team and like TP Mazembe of old, they’re building a formidable team in Africa that can compete against the best.

Nigeria league champions, Akwa United have a difficult fixture against Algerian side, CR Belouizdad. It’s always been a difficult task for Nigerian club sides against north African side.

Last season surprise package team from the South Africa premier soccer, Amazulu FC will square up against Nyasa Big Bullets FC from Malawi, and Ghanian Heart of Oaks will face Club Industriel de Kamsar from Guinea.

The first leg of the 2021/22 CAF Champions League Preliminary round will come up between 10-12 September, 2021 while the return leg is set for 17-19 September, 2021.

The Preliminary round matches of the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup season also pits some of the best teams in the continent against each other.

The CAF Confederation Cup just like the CAF Champions League Preliminary round matches first leg will be between 10-12 September with the return leg set for 17-19 September all in 2021.
