CAF WCL: WAFU-B, CECAFA Postpone Zonal Qualifiers

The anticipated Zonal Qualifiers for the Inaugural TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League slated to kick off on July 17, 2021, in the West African and Eastern African regions have been postponed.
West African Football Union (WAFU-B) confirmed the postponement of its Zonal Qualifiers for one week.
The competition will now take place from July 24 to August 5, 2021.
USFA (Burkina Faso), Rivers Angels (Nigeria), Hasaacas Ladies FC (Ghana), Onze Soeur de Gagnoa (Cote d’Ivoire), AS Police (Niger Republic), and Amis du Monde (Togo) have been confirmed as participating teams for the Qualifiers.
In a similar vein, the Eastern African (CECAFA) Zonal Qualifiers have also been postponed with a new date yet to be announced by the organisers.
Andrew Jackson of CECAFA Communications confirmed the postponement stating that the Qualifiers was postponed after consultations with a new date to be announced in due time.
Lady Doves WFC (Uganda), PVP Buyenzi (Burundi), Simba Queens (Tanzania), Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC, Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan), New Generation FC (Zanzibar), Scandinavian WFC (Rwanda) FAD (Djibouti), and Vihiga Queens (Kenya) will participate in the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for CAF Women’s Champions League which will be hosted by Egypt.
