Cameroon needed a positive result after losing their first game to Switzerland and it was just what they needed when Castelletto gave them the lead in the 29th minute.
Cameroon were going to run away with a first half victory until Strahinja Pavlovic and Sergej Milenkovic Savic scored in quick succession to change the tide of the game and earn Serbia the lead going into the break.
Alexander Mitrovic made it 3-1 eight minutes after the restart to further dampen Cameroonian hopes.
Cameroon despite the deficit kept pushing and got rewarded in the 63rd minute via a well taken goal by Vincent Aboubakar.
It did not take long for the equalizer to arrive as Choupo Moting levelled scores two minutes later to retain Cameroon’s hope of making it to the next round.
The African side take on Brazil in a difficult last group game while Serbia face Switzerland for a place in the last 16.

Ghana squared up against South Korea in the second game of the day and came out top after the disappointment of the opening game loss to Portugal.
The Black Stars proved the loss to Portugal was just a blip as they raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus in the opening 45 minutes.

The end to end affair got more interesting in the second half as the Koreans took the initiative and got their goal via the boots of Jo Gue Sung.
Three minutes later, South Korea drew level with Gue Sung scoring again to bring his side level.
Ghana needed a special moment to get back into the lead and so did Mohammed Kudus with a 68th minute strike to put the Africans back up and ultimately secure all three points going into the last game.
A third game against Uruguay in the repeat of the quarter final tie in 2010 awaits for the Black Stars as they seek to qualify for the knockouts.
