This marks the first occasion that the U.S. will host FIFA tournaments in consecutive years, and Lloyd believes the impact will be substantial. She stated that these events will elevate the sport’s status within American culture.
“Well, first of all, it’s a beautiful game and I’m a bit biased in saying that America’s one of the greatest places to be,” Lloyd shared with FIFA’s official website. “So I think these next two summers, I don’t think that we all realize the effects that the Club World Cup and the World Cup are going to have not only on America but across the globe.”

“Consider the NFL and the Super Bowl – the World Cup in ’26 is going to feel like Super Bowls every day. It’s going to be incredible, and as FIFA organizes these remarkable tournaments, they’re going to execute a phenomenal job in the upcoming summers as well.”
Lloyd pointed out that more people in America are watching soccer than ever before.
“I think here in America, there are significantly more viewers tuning in to games, with a greater number of matches being broadcast from leagues worldwide, and more people are engaging with the sport.”
