The 25 year old midfielder left AC Milan at the end of his contract last summer to move to the Camp Nou but has found life difficult in the Catalan city.

The Atalanta stalwart has only seven La Liga appearances to his name with most of those being substitute appearances whilst he was almost indispensable while on the books of the Rossoneri.

Kessie is now growing increasingly frustrated at his role under Xavi Hernandez who obviously prefers other players with different characteristics from the Ivorian.

Pellegatti revealed in a video on YouTube the midfielder’s struggles and his desire to return to his former club to restart his career.

“Sources close to Franck Kessié’s entourage told me that the player would like to return to Milan. It’s an indiscretion, nothing is certain but this is what comes directly from Barcelona,” he said (via MilanLive).

“When he went to Spain they told me that the Ivorian had chosen Barcelona but that Barcelona were the least suitable team for him in terms of play, the Blaugrana mentality does not appreciate players like him. There they love players with different characteristics.”

The journalist revealed he got the rumour because the player is dissatisfied with his position as a fringe player in Barcelona where he was one of the first names on the team sheet in Milan.

“If here he was used to being the President, there he is perhaps considered an undersecretary, always an important position because he plays for Barcelona but there is no doubt that it is a lower position than the President. He is not a fundamental player and he suffers: that’s why I got this rumour.”

The operation to see Kessie return to Milan however seems impossible according to Pellegatti.

“To date, the hypothesis seems to me very, very, very remote. And I use a euphemism not to use the word impossible even if in football, especially in the market, there is nothing impossible. I believe that Milan consider the Kessié chapter closed at the moment.

“It’s probably a mutual thing, but I don’t think Milan aspire to go back to talking to Atangana, Franck Kessié’s agent. We know how much relations have broken down in the last period for the Ivorian in Milan.”

The player is currently training with his club in Barcelona as his country Ivory Coast failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Meanwhile…

Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has given hope to Milan in their pursuit of forward Noah Okafor.

The Switzerland international is currently with the national preparing for the World Cup in Qatar.

However, his exploits for the Austrian club have attracted interest from across Europe with clubs now chasing his signature.

Manchester City, AC Milan and Liverpool are the three most interested clubs as per SkySports Germany.

Club director Freund has now thrown the possibility of a transfer open by saying that a January sale is not out of the picture if the right offer arrives.

“I think a bit more will happen in the transfer market than in recent years,” Freund told Sky Austria via F365.

“I hope that he plays a good World Cup, then the Noah Okafor stock can become very interesting. I am not ruling it out.”

Okafor has ten goals and two assists for his club this term across twenty two matches in all competitions and could see his stock rise after the World Cup if he finds form in Qatar.
