Casemiro appears to be open to joining Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from Catalan newspaper El Nacional. The Real Madrid midfielder is in negotiations with the Parisians about a possible transfer next summer. However, as things stand, the Spanish giants have no intention of dealing with PSG.

For the greater part of a decade, Casemiro has been an important figure for Real Madrid. The Brazilian midfielder has formed a powerful midfield partnership with fellow Real Madrid mainstays Luka Modric and Toni Kroos after returning from a loan spell with FC Porto in the 2014/15 season.

Los Blancos’ most important player, the 29-year-old has made 301 appearances for the club, scoring 30 goals and assisting on 25 occasions. However, there have recently been reports that Real Madrid may be willing to sell Casemiro, which has alerted PSG.

PSG’s interest is natural, given that Idrissa Gueye and Ander Herrera are both approaching 30 years old. Furthermore, Marco Verratti has recently dealt with a number of fitness difficulties, while Danilo Pereira’s performances have not instilled much trust.

While the 29-year-old appears to be interested in joining PSG, Real Madrid is wary of dealing with Les Parisiens. That’s because the Spanish giants still believe PSG cheated them during the Kylian Mbappe saga during the summer transfer window.

If Real Madrid’s relationship with PSG improve in the next months, they may be open to the possibility of starting talks. Los Blancos, on the other hand, have no intention of interacting with the Ligue 1 giants as things stand. So, whether Casemiro moves to Parc des Princes or stays at the Santiago Bernabeu next summer remains to be seen.

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos disclosed on his podcast Einfach mal Luppen last week that he denied a farewell ceremony with the German national team.

He claims that the German Football Association promised him and former manager Joachim Löw a ceremony to mark their retirement from international football. Kroos claims he declined since he had Real Madrid training the next day and dislikes attending ceremonies.

Kroos and Löw both left the German national team after the team’s failure to qualify for EURO 2020 in July. After his first senior call-up in 2010, Kroos stayed with the team for over ten years and made over 100 appearances. He played a key role in Germany’s World Cup victory in Brazil in 2014.
