Written by Oluwaseun Oyediji
South Africa and Morocco will once again face off in the final of the women’s football competition in 2022.
More Details
This time it will be at the club level after both sides met in the final of the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2022) in Morocco.
The same venue and similar setup as the host, ASFAR FC of Morocco welcomes Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa at the Stade Moulay Abdellah in the final of the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League on Sunday.
It will be a repeat of WAFCON 2022 where South Africa edged Morocco 2-1 to win its first WAFCON title.
Both Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and ASFAR FC are yet to lose any game in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League.
The two teams have won all four games and hold a joint record for highest number of consecutive wins at the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.
