Cesc Fabregas Speaks On Why He Chose To Join Como Calcio

Francesc Fabregas joined Como Calcio at the beginning of August on a two year deal after leaving French side AS Monaco.

The 35 year old who has travelled far and wide in his illustrious career surprisingly chose the Serie B side over other options.

He’s played for top clubs such as Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea with his choice to move to the second tier of Italian football baffling to many.

He has however revealed the reason behind his decision as he spoke to Spanish publication Marca over his new home.

“I was convinced by the global project they proposed; to continue playing at a good level, to be a shareholder, to live in a nice city.

“My family will be relaxed, the children can go to a Swiss school, I can prepare for a future as a coach.”

Fabregas made 110 appearances for the Spanish national team winning the World Cup once and the European Championships twice.

Inter Milan are working on bringing Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi to the club.

The Italian defender has been identified by the Nerazzurri as a low cost replacement for the void left by the departure of Andrea Ranocchia.

The 34 year old who Inzaghi knows really well having worked with him while at Lazio is now top of Inter’s list ahead of Trevoh Chalobah and Manuel Akanji.

The Republica reports that Inter are at an advanced stage in negotiations for the centre back who will serve majorly as a cover for Stefan De Vrij.
