Chelsea, Arsenal Target Viktor Gyokeres Leaves Door Open For Summer Transfer
Written By Albert Echatah
In light of interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon attacker Viktor Gyokeres has declined to rule out leaving in the summer.
More Details
Gyokeres joined Sporting after finishing the previous season as the second-highest scorer in the Championship with 21 league goals for Coventry City.
Gyokeres has since gone on to have an incredible rookie campaign with the Portuguese powerhouses, scoring 41 goals in 47 games of competition. Of those 31 league games, the Sweden international has scored 27 goals, five of which have come in his last three appearances.
Sporting would only give up on Gyokeres if his €100 million (£86 million) release clause is fully fulfilled, according to the Metro.
Additionally, it has been reported that Sporting wants to raise the player’s release clause to €120 million (£103 million) in order to prepare for a possible summer bidding war.
Gyokeres is reportedly a target for Manchester United, the 20-time English champions, in addition to Arsenal and Chelsea.

According to reports, Premier League clubs have approved the introduction of a development plan that will curb spending beginning with the 2025–2026 season.
The spending cap proposals were approved by 16 teams, and their goal is to keep the gap between the Premier League’s lower-half teams and its financial titans from growing.
Nevertheless, a report from BBC Sport claims that three teams vying for European football—Manchester United, Manchester City, and Aston Villa—are thought to have voted against the proposal.
