Although a move from Alsace to West London could create complications for the BlueCo ownership group, speculation linking the 41-year-old to Stamford Bridge continues to intensify.
Liam Rosenior may have overseen his last match at Strasbourg, ending his debut Ligue 1 season in seventh place. Following a 1-1 draw against Nice, the former Hull City manager reportedly gave an emotional goodbye to the fans.
Amidst rumors linking him to the vacant Chelsea job, Rosenior confirmed that talks with the London club have occurred. While he expressed deep affection for the Strasbourg community and players, he acknowledged that his future at the club is now unclear.
“It’s a very beautiful city, with very beautiful people, a great club,” said the Chelsea-linked manager. I loved everything. The players were incredible. “I really want the best for this club. I don’t know if this is my last match. In life, you never know.”

Despite his claims that no formal deal is in place, his remarks were viewed by many as a clear sign of an impending move to Chelsea. Under Liam Rosenior’s six-month leadership, Strasbourg have climbed to seventh in Ligue 1, showing marked improvement.
By targeting Rosenior, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali aim to ensure stability across their multi-club network. Given Strasbourg’s status as Chelsea’s sister club, the appointment is seen as a smoother transition than bringing in an outsider mid-campaign.
While high-profile names like Roberto De Zerbi, John Terry, and Francesco Farioli were reportedly discussed, Rosenior’s tactical approach and existing ties to the owners have established him as the frontrunner.
