Leeds, a club in the second division, may need to earn about £100 million in player sales if they are not successful in winning promotion to the Premier League this season.

The Daily Mail claims that Summerville’s exit is the most likely to occur. Chelsea are keeping an eye on Summerville in anticipation of a potential transfer, although they will have competition from Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Liverpool.

Last month, Summerville won the Championship Player of the Season award and was expected to fetch at least £30 million. After playing in 43 Championship games this season, the 22-year-old Dutch winger has scored 19 goals and provided nine assists.

‘I’m on another level than before,’ Summerville said after being crowned Championship Player of the Season.

‘When we went down, I thought I was going to stay at Leeds and help the team to get back to where they belong and I’m happy I can help the team with my assists and goals. The Championship is very difficult and it’s very tough but I am enjoying it because I like games.’

According to reports, Premier League clubs have approved the introduction of a development plan that will curb spending beginning with the 2025–2026 season.

The spending cap proposals were approved by 16 teams, and their goal is to keep the gap between the Premier League’s lower-half teams and its financial titans from growing.

Nevertheless, a report from BBC Sport claims that three teams vying for European football—Manchester United, Manchester City, and Aston Villa—are thought to have voted against the proposal.
