More Details

Saliba has maintained his excellent play from the previous campaign and is still a vital member of Arsenal’s squad as they aim to win the Premier League.

The center back is essential to Mikel Arteta’s team’s attack and defense, helping them give up the second fewest goals in the league. However, it doesn’t appear that Desailly, a former French defender, doesn’t think highly of him. He recently stated, “I don’t believe his individual qualities to be above average.” He performs at an extremely high level but not exceptionally well.

His remarks caught everyone off guard, especially Keown, who had been all praise for the 22-year-old in the lead-up to Arsenal’s Champions League match against Sevilla.

‘I really can’t understand that [Desailly’s comments]. I think Saliba has the complete skill set,’ the former Gunners defender told TNT Sports.

‘I think he’s right now one of the best defenders in Europe. He has everything you need. His pace is phenomenal. His power. He reads the situation really well.

‘We love having him at Arsenal because he’s physical and has everything you need.He has everything you need. He’s aggressive and I think he has everything he needs. I am really surprised by that comment.’

Meanwhile…

Erik ten Hag is anxious to prevent Jadon Sancho from making a “empty gesture,” therefore Manchester United is apparently willing to accept a “significant loss” on him.

Sancho has a disruptive impact on the rest of United’s team, according to manager Ten Hag, who is determined to get rid of the winger.

This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a nasty falling out, with the Dutchman publicly criticizing his player in the media for his lack of effort in practice. After spending £73 million on him in 2021, United is now willing to suffer a “significant loss” on the player in the January transfer window.
