The Dutchman is reportedly a “strong admirer” of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who sees him as the ideal replacement for the N’Golo Kante-Jorginho duo.

Of course, Manchester United has long been said to be interested in signing De Jong. It is now “painfully evident to all parties,” according to the article, that if De Jong actually intended to join United, he would have done so by this point.

However, according to multiple reports, Chelsea believes that De Jong might be persuaded to leave the Camp Nou if they came knocking since they can offer UEFA Champions League football, which United cannot.

César Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso’s interest in FC Barcelona is another reason. Chelsea believes that by utilizing them as makeweights in a future deal, they may obtain a good price.

However, it is not anticipated that Chelsea will act quickly. Even if Chelsea currently has other priorities, it is nonetheless interesting to observe.

Barcelona’s lawyers are currently in negotiations with Memphis Depay’s representatives for a contract rescission that will make the Dutch striker a free agent this summer, according to an exclusive report by the transfer guru himself, Fabrizio Romano.

Memphis’ future has been in doubt all summer since the acquisition of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha and the contract renewal of Ousmane Dembélé, and Barça had been in contact with Juventus for a potential transfer.

But the Blaugrana wanted €20 million for a player on the last year of his contract, which was complicating any prospect of a deal.
