In Chelsea’s 4-2 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, forward Cole Palmer set a new club record.
More Details
The summer transfer from Manchester City to Chelsea has seen the England international establish himself as a vital member of the team.
Palmer has made 19 Premier League appearances for the Blues, starting 15 of them, including Sunday’s match at Stamford Bridge against Wolves.
The 21-year-old scored in the 19th minute of the game to give Mauricio Pochettino’s team the perfect start. This was the player’s third straight home goal in all competitions.
Palmer used his weaker right foot to latch onto Moises Caicedo’s inch-perfect pass and slip the ball into the bottom corner.
With his tenth league goal of the 2023–24 season, Palmer not only gave his team the lead but also broke a club record. The young player made Premier League history by being the first player, 21 years of age or younger, to score ten goals or more in a single season.

Jadon Sancho has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the 2023–24 campaign.
Two and a half years have passed since the England international permanently switched to the Red Devils, who paid £73 million for his services in the summer of 2021.
“Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season,” the Red Devils said in a statement. “The England international of 23 caps leaves with our best wishes for the remainder of this season.”
