Chelsea To Include Ziyech In Enzo Fernandez Deal But A Move To Italy Looks More Appealing To The Player

The potential exit of Italy forward, Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma could have some sort of domino effect on the transfer market, triggering a couple of movement in this winter transfer window.

More Details

Zaniolo was thought to be headed for EPL side, Tottenham Hotspur, but instead, they opted to go for Villarreal striker, Arnaut Danjuma, hijacking him from Everton, instead, Zaniolo now looks set for a move to fellow Italian side, AC Milan.

Consequently, Roma are expected to swiftly move for Chelsea winger, Hakim Ziyech as a replacement. But Chelsea have other ideas as they want to include him in their offer to sign Benfica midfielder, Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues have been linked with the World Cup breakout star almost the entire window but failed in their previous bid to sign the Argentine playmaker, whose contract contains a €120 million release clause.

Benfica have stood firm this window, demanding the clause be paid in full for any departure to be accepted for their prized asset. The Portuguese side are in a position to resist any offer that they deem unworthy as the player is still contracted to them until 2027.

Ziyech, has failed to live up to the lofty expectations placed upon him following his 2020 summer move from Ajax, but has also attracted significant interest following his exploits at the World Cup with Morocco, taking the African country to the semi-finals, the first country from the continent to do so.

But that isn’t enough to salvage his future at the Stamford Bridge with the Blues now ready to cut their losses on the player. The club is trying to satisfy the demands of Graham Potter and that doesn’t to have Ziyech in it.

It’s still unclear if Ziyech will be open to a move to Benfica, but one thing is clear, his future lies away from London in England.

Newcastle United have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Everon winger, Anthony Gordon, fending off interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

In the last summer transfer window, Chelsea saw a bid of about €50 million rejected for the player and most recently, it seems like Tottenham would be signing him, taking advantage of the financial difficulty of the Toffees.

But according to latest report, Newcastle have now arrived with a bid of their own and have already reached personal agreement with the player.
