The 21 year old is one of Everton’s most prized assets and has been impressive for the Toffees since breaking into the first team.
Chelsea have had previous bids turned back by Everton who continue to hold out for nothing less than £60m for the youngster.
SkySports however on Tuesday morning broke the news that the Blues are now willing to match the £60m asking price including add ons.
Gordon is also interested in the move to Stamford Bridge and has already agreed personal terms on a five year deal with the option of another.
Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur were also both interested but Chelsea seem to have beaten them in the race for the 21 year old attacker.

Chelsea are also nearing a deal for Barcelona forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
The Catalan club want €30m for the Gabonese international who only joined the club in January on a free transfer.

Personal terms with the player already sorted by Chelsea with only the agreement with Barcelona missing.
Aubameyang wants the move knowing that his chances at the Camp Nou will be limited following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
Aubameyang scored thirteen times for Barcelona in twenty four appearances in the second half of last season.
