The next big event for USA Basketball will be the Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) Women’s Basketball World Cup, to be held from September 22 to October 1 in Sydney, Australia.
The U.S. comes into the tournament as winners of three straight World Cups (the last time they did not win gold was in 2006).
The nine-time gold medalists have won the World Cup a record 10 times, and their result in 2022 will set the tone for the program’s future under a new coaching regime.
Reeve’s coaching staff is stacked with WNBA talent: assistant coaches Vickie Johnson and Mike Thibault, and scouts Curt Miller and James Wade.
