Kristianstads DFF has announced the signing of Australian international Clare Polkinghorne.

More Details

The 34-year-old center-back will be joining until the end of 2024.

Polkinghorne played for another Swedish top-flight side, Vittsjo GIK in the past three years.

She also played for the Norwegian side, Avaldnes before joining Vittsjo.

The defender has played a total number of 164 games for Australia's Matildas.

"It feels really good that even this puzzle piece came into place in time before the start of the season in early January," Kristianstads club manager, Lovisa Strom said after the signing of the defender.

"I am really excited about challenging myself at a new club. The club has always had high ambitions and is always competitive. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the club and can't wait to get started." Polkinghorne asserted.


Kristiansad and Emmy Olofsson have agreed on a contract for the upcoming season.

The 18-year-old previously played for IFO Bromolla IF where she started 25 out of the team's 26 games last season.

Before that, she also played for BK Union.

"To have the opportunity to play for one of the best clubs in Sweden feels really inspiring," Emmy said.

"It will be very developmental to be able to train in the environment that exists in Kristiansad."
