Germany U-20 women’s teams zoomed into a 5-2 success against Venezuela in their first Group D game at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The former champions took a 4-1 lead in the first half with Marie Steiner, Loreen Bender, and Sophie Nachtigall on target.
Venezuela pulled a goal back as an attempt hit the cross bar through the keeper, Rebecca Adamczyk into the back of the net in the 43rd minute.
Bender’s second goal of the encounter in the additional minutes of the first half restored their three goal lead.

Floriangel Apostol was at the end of Gabriela Gonzalez’s pass to score Venezuela’s second goal with the last chance of the match.

With the results, Germany topped Group D ahead of their next opponent, Nigeria while South Korea and Venezuela will hope to get their first point and win in their next game.
Nigeria and Germany has met in the final twice in 2010 and 2014 with the European side getting the better of the Africans on both occasions.
Christopher Danjuma’s side wish to pick a win against the Germans to bury past setbacks.
