Leg 1 ended with a 3-0 victory for the Lions thanks to a brace from Facundo Torres. Nicolas Lodeiro’s goal in the second half put the Lions ahead, and further goals from Ramiro Enrique and Kyle Smith effectively ended the match.

Orlando’s new striker for DP, Luis Muriel, made his debut in 79 minutes and assisted Lodeiro’s first goal for the Florida based club.

With the emphatic victory, Orlando has scheduled a rematch with Liga MX club Tigres UANL from last year’s Round of 16 series. In order to find out who advances to the quarterfinals, they will now host Leg 1 on March 5 and then travel to Estadio Universitario on March 12.

Myer Bevan, a forward, scored the team’s first-ever CCC goal in the 64th minute from close range. Orlando City’s next league match is crunch clash against Lionel Messi’s led Inter Miami side on Saturday.

Along with No. 1 SuperDraft choice Tyrese Spicer and Honduran international midfielder Deybi Flores, the 33-year-old former Irish international is Toronto’s third offseason addition.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the Toronto FC family,” head coach John Herdman said in a release. “Kevin’s experience will be a welcome addition to TFC’s back line. He’s here to help rebuild the club and is hungry for success.”
