Written By Albert Echatah
Conor Gallagher’s future at Chelsea is uncertain at the moment, although Mauricio Pochettino has disclosed that he has spoken with the player.
More Details
Having started 19 of the team’s 20 Premier League games this season, the 23-year-old has been a constant in Pochettino’s lineup. Gallagher’s repeated wearing of the captain’s armband this season is indicative of his standing in the Chelsea team.
With only 18 months remaining on his current deal, Gallagher’s Chelsea future continues to be a subject of considerable discussion, even though Pochettino views him as an essential player.
Gallagher is expected to remain at Stamford Bridge this month, according to a recent report, but if the club receives a good offer, the management may be convinced to sell.
Speaking ahead of Middlesbrough’s visit to the EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday, Pochettino stated that he had discussed Gallagher’s future with him.
Pochettino told reporters: “If you want to ask me if I was talking with Conor about this situation, yes. Like all the players when some rumour happens, it’s always good to have a good conversation with the player, like Ian Maatsen, or different players like this, Andrey Santos.

According to rumors in Belgium, Arsenal and Everton are in talks to sign Amadou Onana during the January transfer window.
Before the transfer window closes, Mikel Arteta wants to bolster his alternatives in the midfield, and Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa has been the Gunners’ primary priority.
The Brazilian is now in excellent form, but Villa will probably want a high price for him because his current deal has more than two years left on it. Arsenal has another option in Onana, and the Gunners are reportedly in negotiations with Everton to acquire the 22-year-old, according to several Belgian sources, including Sacha Tavolieri and Nieuwsblad Sport.
