Brazilian and South American champions SC Corinthians booked their place in the final of the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup after edging North America’s Gotham FC 1–0 in the first semifinal on Wednesday in Brentford, England.

A late strike from Gabi Zanotti proved decisive, with the midfielder finding the net in the 83rd minute from a Tamires assist to separate the two sides in a tightly contested encounter.
The semifinal marked the first match of the tournament for both teams, with Corinthians showing composure to see out the narrow victory and advance to the final.

They will now face the winner of the second semifinal between England’s Arsenal FC and Morocco’s AS FAR FC.
The maiden edition of the competition began last year with a Round of 16 clash between China’s Wuhan Jiangda and New Zealand’s Auckland United, which the Chinese champions won 1–0.

In the quarterfinals, African champions AS FAR FC secured a 2–1 victory over Wuhan Jiangda to book their place in the last four.
