Joint record winners of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Germany on Wednesday crashed out of the 2022 edition after a 1-0 loss to Mexico at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto, Alajuela.

Germany had lost its opening group game 1-0 to Colombia before defeating New Zealand 3-0 only to fall to a 1-0 defeat to Mexico.
Colombia after a 2-2 draw with New Zealand top the group and progresses to the quarter-final alongside Mexico on superior goal difference after both teams ended the group campaign with five (5) points apiece.
