The young La Rojas of Spain defeated The Netherlands 2-1 in the semi-final of Costa Rica 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The tournament’s top goal scorer, Inma Gabarro scored two first-half goals to lead Spain to the final.
The first goal came in the 22nd minute from Ane Elexpuru’s assist before adding her second goal three minutes later off Silvia Lloris’ assist.
Inma Gabarro has scored a total number of seven (7) goals in the tournament ahead of Japan’s Maika Hamano with four (4) goals and an assist.
Liz Rijsbergen in the 54th minute set up Rosa van Gool to reduce the deficit for the Netherlands.

Spain kept its composure and qualified for the final where the team will face the defending Champions.
The Netherlands will now have to settle for a third-place match.

Holders, Japan edged Brazil 2-1 to make it to the final where the team have the chance of retaining the title.

Yuzuki Yamamoto opened the scoring for Japan at the half-hour mark.
Cris equalised for Brazil in the 55th minute from Bruninha’s assist before Maika Hamano’s 84th-minute winner for Japan.
Japan will face Spain in the final on August 28 at the Estadio National de Costa Rica, San Jose.
The third place match between The Netherlands and Brazil will take place on the same day.
