The team is still chasing their inaugural victory against a top-15 opponent. That chance arrives Tuesday evening when they face No. 13 Colombia in a friendly at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Catch the match at 8 pm ET (on TSN, RDS, and OneSoccer).
“When we had the opportunity to play Colombia, I jumped on it immediately because between the way they play, the types of players they have, the success they’ve had in recent years, and the mentality they’ll bring – all of these things will feel like what a high-level opponent at the World Cup will feel like,” head coach Jesse Marsch told reporters Monday.
“In every window along the way, we’ve created this checklist, and we have an opportunity to achieve a new high for the program.”
Les Rouges are looking for a win against Los Cafeteros after their 1-0 defeat to Australia on Friday. Los Cafeteros, meanwhile, are coming off a dominant 4-0 victory over Mexico on Sunday.

“There was disappointment that we didn’t get the result against Australia, especially given how we managed the game,” Marsch said.
“We felt like we let it slip, and we have to learn from that and make sure that that doesn’t happen at the World Cup.”
With the 2026 World Cup looming, co-host coach Jesse Marsch is driving internal competition and preparing to field his strongest squad against Colombia.
He revealed three starters: Dayne St. Clair (Minnesota United goalkeeper), Stephen Eustáquio (FC Porto midfielder), and Tani Oluwaseyi (forward, who just scored his first goal for Villarreal).
