CWC: New Transfer Window Date Set For Premier League Clubs
Written By Albert Echatah
To provide teams competing in the Club World Cup the opportunity to sign players in advance, the Premier League transfer window will open sooner than usual at the end of the season.
More Details
On Thursday, the top-tier teams in England decided to temporarily open the window from June 1–10. From June 15 to July 13, the United States will host the Club World Cup.

June 16 is when the traditional window will open, and it will close on September 1. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are among the top teams in the 32-team Club World Cup.
FIFA approved temporary transfer regulations in October of last year to facilitate players switching sides prior to the competition. It makes it possible for players whose contracts expire on June 30 to sign as free agents ahead of schedule.
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked to a move to Real Madrid and his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Theoretically, he would be allowed to play for the Spanish giant in the final stages of the competition provided he signed a deal before then.
Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City and Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool are two other well-known players whose contracts expire at the end of the current campaign.
The possibility that Alexander-Arnold will play for the Spanish powerhouses sooner than expected is only going to increase the dissatisfaction that many Liverpool supporters have with the right-back’s imminent move.
