Damian Suarez Set For Mutual Contract Termination With Getafe In Favor Of A Move To Botafogo
Damian Suarez’s antics have enraged opposing players, managers, and supporters for the past 13 years. He’s turned into the ultimate pantomime villain for La Liga, but tragically, he’s about to lose that title with a looming exit on the cards.
More Details
According to Marca, Suarez has decided to end his agreement with Getafe with whom he has played since 2015. The 35-year-old defender is expected to sign with Botafogo, since he wants to return to South America and he is also desired by other Brazilian teams.
Suarez played against Real Madrid on Thursday, so it was unexpected that he was left off of Getafe’s team for their match against Real Betis on Sunday. Now that the cause of his absence is clear, head coach Jose Bordalas will definitely miss him, both on and off the field.
Losing a player like Suarez is undoubtedly not ideal for Getafe, especially in light of the fact that the winter transfer window ended earlier this week.
Meanwhile…
Joao Cancelo, who joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester City last summer, has had a fantastic season. The Portuguese have been one of the Catalan giants’ most reliable players despite the mayhem.
It should come as no surprise, then, that Barcelona wants to sign Cancelo long-term. They stand a fair chance of succeeding because Man City is probably going to want to offload him because he isn’t in Pep Guardiola’s plans.

Juan Jimenez Salvado claims that Cancelo might be acquired this summer at €25 million. Although this isn’t a large sum, Barcelona hopes to reduce it because of their continuous financial difficulties. They take it for granted that Cancelo wants to stay, and they think they will be successful in achieving so.
