Delphine Cascarino: French Forward Joins San Diego From Lyon

National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, San Diego Wave has signed French striker, Delphine Cascarino from record UEFA Women’s Champions League winners, Lyon.

She has signed a contract with the American side through the 2026 season.
In her first interview as a San Diego Wave player, Cascarino stated the reasons why she decided to move from France to the United States of America (USA).
“I decided to join Sam Diego Wave FC because for me it is one of the best teams in the league and I’m very excited to join the Club,” She said.

“I am a player who’s very technical and fast and I would like to bring to the team my experience and my leadership.”
She will wear jersey number 69 at San Diego Wave FC and stated clearly why she chose the number.

“I chose number 69 because it’s the number of my city, Lyon and I would like to bring a part of me, a part of Lyon to San Diego.
“It’s very important to me to represent Lyon in the USA.” She concluded.
Cascarino has won nine French top-flight league titles, six UEFA Women’s Champions League, five Coupe de France, and two International Champions Cup titles with Lyon.
