Denmark Boss Expresses Concern Over Eriksen’s Lack Of Game Time Under Ten Hag
Written By Albert Echatah
Before this summer’s European Championship, Christian Eriksen’s lack of playing time at Manchester United has raised concerns for Denmark’s head coach, Kasper Hjulmand.
More Details
During the 2023–24 season, the 32-year-old has made 20 appearances for the Red Devils; nevertheless, he has not played much since the beginning of the year.
Eriksen has not been substituted in either of his team’s last seven Premier League games; in the FA Cup, he has not been deployed against either Nottingham Forest or Newport County.
The Danish midfielder will once more start on the bench when Man United hosts Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Eriksen is set to get some much-needed playing time in Denmark’s March friendlies against the Faroe Islands and Switzerland after being chosen in the team.
June 16 will see Denmark’s Euro 2024 campaign begin against Slovenia. In addition, they have England and Serbia to face in the competition’s group stage. Eriksen is expected to play a significant role for his nation in the competition, but Hjulmand has acknowledged that his inactivity at the club level is not ideal.
“It’s not the best situation as it is right now,” Hjulmand told Tipsbladet. “I really, really hope that changes. I’m pretty sure we’ll see a fit Christian. I know he is. I really hope it changes. A player as talented as Christian needs to play, and we certainly hope it changes at United. But it’s not the best situation not to have played more.”

Meanwhile…
Manchester United have announced that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s official 27.7% takeover of the team in exchange for a £1.3 billion agreement has now been completed.
Ratcliffe said: ‘To become co-owner of Manchester United is a great honour and comes with great responsibility.
‘This marks the completion of the transaction, but just the beginning of our journey to take Manchester United back to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans. Work to achieve those objectives will accelerate from today.’
