It’s been a tumultuous last month for Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid, a month they won’t quickly forget unless they begin to turn the tide around for good but patience is running out from Florentino Perez who not only isn’t bothered about the results, but the overall performance of the team as this could reportedly push him into making tough but crucial changes in no time.
More Details
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is growing increasingly frustrated with the team’s recent performances. According to a report in Relevo via Alfredo Matilla as culled from Football Espana, Perez is demanding immediate improvement and has been subtly conveying his dissatisfaction to manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The team suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Barcelona last weekend, widening the gap between the two clubs to six points in La Liga and to add to their disappointment, Vinicius Jr. was snubbed for the Ballon d’Or award on Monday.
All these coupled up has thrown them off gear and Perez is reportedly baffled by the team’s lackluster performances and poor attitude. The defeat to Lille was particularly concerning, and he was shocked to learn that Dortmund outperformed Real Madrid in terms of distance covered during their Champions League match despite the 5-2 comeback win.

As Perez visits the dressing room, his frustration is becoming harder to conceal which has undoubtedly sparked reports that Los Blancos are planning to appoint Xabi Alonso as their next manager, with Carlo Ancelotti set to transition to a different role within the club’s hierarchy next summer.

Real Madrid’s hierarchy, led by Florentino Perez, is growing increasingly frustrated with Carlo Ancelotti’s tactics and team selection.
They believe Ancelotti isn’t maximizing the potential of star players like Mbappe, Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo. Concerns are also raised about the team’s defensive vulnerabilities, the underutilization of young talents like Endrick and Güler, and the performance of midfielders like Tchouameni and Modric.
The club’s board is considering potential changes to the team’s strategy and player roles.
Xabi Alonso, the former Real Madrid midfielder, is the frontrunner to take over as manager next summer. Despite Carlo Ancelotti’s successful tenure, there’s a growing consensus among club officials that Alonso is the right person to lead the team into the future.
Alonso, who is currently managing Bayer Leverkusen, is expected to leave the German club at the end of the season. Real Madrid, however, is in no rush to replace Ancelotti mid-season and intends to offer him a senior role within the club after his managerial duties conclude.
