Amidst the disparities in their financial statement, the Catalan outfit are still reportedly pushing hard to sign Nico Williams who have just been handed the number 10 shirt vacated by former club captain Iker Muniain, while Alvaro Djalo has taken on his previous number 11 shirt.

According to Cadena SER, the club is still grappling with financial hurdles that prevent them from registering Olmo. This current issue wont deter them from thier prime target with the first league clash for Athletic Clu set to take place on Thursday against Getafe at San Mames.

Despite a significant deal with catering and logistics firm Aramark to offset some financial losses, Barcelona remains €60 million short of the required budget. The club is reportedly exploring options to sell a stake in Barca Vision to Nike or Spotify to generate the necessary funds, but no agreement has been reached yet.

Barcelona continues to publicly express their desire to sign Nico Williams, but the path to bringing the Basque winger to the Camp Nou is fraught with uncertainty.

With no major player sales on the horizon and a growing list of players awaiting registration – including Dani Olmo, Vitor Roque, Inigo Martinez, Clement Lenglet, and Eric Garcia – it’s understandable if Williams is hesitant to commit to a move although he has publicly shown his desire to join the club on multiple occasions with personal terms long agreed.

According to Spanish outlet Sport. Barcelona is on the cusp of a major transfer breakthrough with Nico Williams indicating his desire to join the club this summer. This development marks a significant step forward for the Catalan giants, who have pursued the Athletic Bilbao winger throughout the transfer window.

While the agreement with Williams is a positive step, financial hurdles remain. Barcelona’s recent acquisition of Dani Olmo has stretched their financial resources, leaving them unable to meet Williams’ €58 million release clause at this time. The club is confident of generating the necessary funds within the next week, paving the way for a formal move.

The club’s financial constraints and squad registration issues cast a long shadow over their pursuit of the talented forward.
