Diego Dalot’s Father Keen on Son’s Return To United

Written By Dare Solomon
Diego Dalot joined Manchester United in the summer of 2018 for a deal of about €18m but has failed to keep a regular starting place for himself at Old Trafford.
And in the 2020/2021 season, Dalot moved to AC Milan where he had a stellar campaign. Milan were impressed enough with the young full-back to want him back, although it is the terms of the agreement that could stand in the way of a deal being done.
The 22-year-old went ahead to get an invite from the Portuguese national team for Euro 2020 where he made his debut for the in big style. Even though he had never played at full international level before, he was brought on in the Euro match against France which helped them qualify for the next stage.
And now Dalot’s father Teixeira says his son will return to Manchester United after a year in Milan. “Diogo spent a year on loan at Milan and will now return to Manchester United,” Teixeira told Antena 1.
“It was an absolutely extraordinary year for him, with a great evolution, where, above all, he managed to recover his physical form after two very serious injuries in the last two years.”
According to Gazetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri want a loan with option to buy, but United are not keen on that arrangement.
