Brazilian international Renan Lodi scored his first league goal since May 2021, and then extended Atletico’s lead in the second half.

Simeone is aware that his team has a critical run of games ahead of them, both in the league and in Europe, and he is certain that his team will display their usual tenacity.

“The word dynamic is used a lot and this team has a different spirit and aggressiveness”, as per reports from Marca.

“The results are now going for us.

“Against Manchester United it was not be, but hopefully we can continue the winning habit.

“Internal competition is growing and that is the best thing that could happen to us.

“If we stay focused, loyal and committed, the team will keep winning.”

Simeone’s squad will travel to Real Betis in the next weekend.

After a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Madrid, Atlético Madrid travels to Manchester on March 15 for the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against United.

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona is still keeping an eye on Saul Niguez and could make a summer bid for him. Xavi Hernandez and his teammates are big fans of the Spaniard, and they even talked about making a move for him during the January transfer window.

Saul is on loan at Chelsea from Atlético Madrid to Chelsea until the end of the season, although he has yet to make an appearance at Stamford Bridge. Barcelona currently has Antoine Griezmann on loan at Atletico Madrid, so Saul may be used as a negotiation tool if Los Rojiblancos decide to buy the Frenchman.

Saul is a very versatile player who is said to be interested in a move to Camp Nou. He is capable of playing both in midfield and at left back. Saul joined Atletico from Real Madrid’s youth system when he was 14 years old, and has remained with the club throughout his professional career. However, he is on his second loan, having previously spent the 2013/14 season at Rayo Vallecano.
