Done Deal: Achraf Hakimi Will Join PSG

The deal to take Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan to PSG has been completed according to reliable transfer market journalist, Fabrizio Romano.

Both clubs had been in negotiations for some time now with the Italian club holding out for a reported €80 million and the French club only offering around €60 million.

Last season’s UEFA Champions League winners, Chelsea were also rumored to be interested with several reports stating that the English club was prepared to offer up to €60 million and any player of Inter’s choice between Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso. No official bid was however made.

Romano reports that an agreement has been struck between both clubs tonight for a sum of €70 million, bonuses included. Inter are guaranteed to receive €60 million immediately while the rest of the fee will be received upon fulfilment of certain conditions in the contract.

Multiple outlets in Italy had reported that Inter Milan needed to make up to €100 million this summer to ease the effect of COVID-19 on the club’s finances and the only way to do that was to let go of one – or two – of their key players. The sale of Hakimi will come as a huge relief to the club as they can now focus on planning for next season with newly appointed manager, Simone Inzaghi.

Hakimi is expected to sign a contract that will tie him to the French club until 2026. The official announcement for is expected to arrive soon.
