DONE DEAL: Aston Villa to sign Martinez
Arsenal goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez is expected to join fellow Premier League club side, Aston Villa in the coming days.
The 28-year old has been at the London based club since 2010, spending two years in the Arsenal youth team before making his first team debut in 2012. Since then, he has never really been first choice at the club.
He’s been sent on numerous loan moves in the last eight years before he was kept as back up for Arsenal’s first choice goalkeeper last season, Bernd Leno.
Martinez filled in for the German goalkeeper after he got injured in June and did considerably well causing a certain section of the Arsenal fans to suggest that he should be the first choice goalkeeper.
Sky Sports reports that the Argentine goalkeeper has flown to Birmingham for his Aston Villa medical in a deal will reportedly cost the Villans around 20 million euros. A four-year contract has reportedly been agreed and should be signed when the medical is completed.
