Dortmund Director Rule Out The Sale Of Manchester United And Barcelona Target

The Sporting Director has ruled out the sale of the club’s fullback following interests from abroad.

Sebastian Kehl has disclosed that Borussia Dortmund are not interested in selling Belgian defender Thomas Meunier.

The fullback is attracting a lot of interest from Europe with Barcelona and Manchester United the most interest clubs.

The 30 year old is one of Dortmund’s most experienced and important players with the club not willing to part ways with him.

Barcelona have proposed a direct swap deal involving want away Sergino Dest, an offer tag was rejected by the German club.

Manchester United have also shown interest as they are looking for a reliable player in that right back position who will fit into coach Erik Ten Hag’s plans.

However, Sebastian Kehl has ruled out a possible move away for the former PSG player.

“The transfer window is still open until next week, but we have no intention of selling Thomas Meunier. There will be another wild ride from Monday onwards. But I refer that overall to the market. Currently it is absolutely not our plan to sell him.” He said via BVB Newsblog.

Meunier has been at Dortmund since 2020 and has appeared 62 times for the one time European champions scoring three goals.

The deal involving Barcelona forward Memphis Depay moving to Juventus has now officially collapsed.

Depay was on the verge of joining Juventus last week but anymore as the Bianconeri have now signed Arek Milik instead.

The Dutchman refused to lower his demands with the Italian giants unable to meet his demands following the collapse of Adrien Rabiot’s move to Manchester United.

The 28 year old is definitely not in Xavi Hernandez’ plans and is expected to find himself a new club before the close of the transfer window next week.
