Duje Ćaleta-Car has been presented as the latest Real Sociedad defensive acquisition ahead of the new season with the Croatian defender joining on a season long loan deal with a permanent purchase option from French Ligue 1 side, Lyon.

“I’m very happy to be here and to already be part of the Club. It has an incredible history, a fantastic city, a great stadium and amazing fans,” he said in first interview with the club.

The centre-back also highlighted his commitment to helping the team: “I’m here to give my best and support a young squad. I hope we can play attractive football and work well together on the pitch.”

Fully aware of the club’s ambitions, the Croatian international made his goals clear: “I know it’s an ambitious project. I’ve come to help the team, play good football, make the fans happy and celebrate our achievements at the end of the season,” he concluded.

Duje Ćaleta-Car is a right-footed central defender who typically operates on the left side of the back line. A regular fixture in the Croatian national team, he has accumulated 33 official caps, reflecting his consistency and reliability at the international level.

Ćaleta-Car brings valuable experience from France’s Ligue 1, having featured for both Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais.
