Accordingly, the manager, Simone Inzaghi is now looking to shake things up in the team ahead of some important matches for the team in the Serie A and in the UCL. But there’s a good news on the horizon as Dutch wing-back Denzel Dumfries has reportedly agreed to a new, long-term contract extension in San Siro.

This is in spite of reports linking him with a move to Manchester United earlier in the summer. According to multiple reports in Italy, the former PSV man has agreed to sign an extension until the summer of 2028 after several months of negotiations. Accordingly, he is set to earn an increased salary of around €4m per season on his new deal.
It was also revealed that there will not be a release clause included in this new contract, according to Calciomercato. Dumfries, who had been into the final year of his previous contract, expiring in the summer of 2025, had taken his time to decide whether or not to commit his long-term future to Simone Inzaghi and Inter.
There had been reports linking Dumfries with a move to Manchester United over the summer, but a move to Old Trafford, or anywhere else for that matter, never materialised. Even if there no release clause, his possible exit in the future can’t be ruled, but it will be on the club’s terms.

In a related development, Inzaghi has reportedly told his players that ‘hierarchies don’t exist’, so he’s expected to continue rotating against Udinese, starting Davide Frattesi and Piotr Zielinski. They have had their worst start to the Serie A season under Inzaghi, collecting just eight points in the opening five games.
On Sunday, they lost to city rivals Milan, ending a six-game winning streak against the Rossoneri.Fans and media have questioned Inzaghi’s line-up choices, but according to Gazzetta, the Italian tactician won’t change his approach in tomorrow’s game against Udinese. Inter send clear message to Inter players as he prepares for more changes.
The report claims that Inzaghi has insisted that ‘Hierarchies don’t exist’ and that ‘everyone must feel under question. ’Nicolò Barella’s injury will allow Davide Frattesi to get a staring spot away at Udinese on Saturday, but according to the report, there will be another change in the midfield.
Former Napoli man, Zielinski will replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Hakan Calhanoglu will complete the Nerazzurri midfield against Udinese. Inter will play three games in the next week before the international break, rotation is much expected for the team.

After the Udinese game tomorrow, they’ll host FK Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League on October 1 and Torino in Serie A on October 5. And getting the maximum possible points in these games could set them on the right track once again and act as a confidence booster in their Scudetto title defense and UCL title quest.
