It was a little bit surprising to see Dusan Vlahovic still with Juventus after the closing of this year’s summer transfer window after the club’s effort to offload him all summer but they faced plenty of difficulties due to his high wage demands and the need to join a big club.

In the end, the Serbian forward ended up staying despite entering the final year of his contract with the Italian giants and can walk away as a free agent at the end of the season, which will be a bitter pill to swallow for the club considering how much they spent to sign him from Fiorentina.

Notwithstanding, they’re stuck with him for the next one year, at least that is the feeling after the Bianconeri failed to bring back Randal Kolo Muani, who joined Tottenham Hotspur from PSG and there is a strong possibility that Vlahovic will walk away at the end of the season.

With two games into the 2025-26 season, he has managed to score a goal in each match to give them maximum points against Genoa and Parma and make them one of the few clubs with maximum points so far into the new season and forming a great partnership with new signing, Jonathan David.

He’s still expected to leave and while he’s being linked with a move to the English Premier League next, another Serie A club, AC Milan is starting to lay the ground work and are expected to make a new attempt to sign him in the January transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

It Is no secret that the Rossoneri are long-time admirers of the Juventus star and that they already tried to sign Vlahovic in the summer transfer window. According to Calciomercato, they will make a new attempt in January, but are already aware that securing a deal with the striker won’t be an easy task.

Vlahovic earns €12m including add-ons for the final year of his contract in Turin and is unwilling to accept a pay cut for his fixed salary and according to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist, Fabiana Della Valle, he has demanded a €10m signing bonus and a €10m-a-year salary, plus add-ons, and that Inter are among the clubs considering a free transfer at the end of the season.

In a related development, PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi is reportedly furious with Juve and warned them that he’d ‘remember’ their methods after talks for Kolo Muani’s return to Turin collapsed, according to French source, Sports Zone on the issue after the failed move.

The owner of the European champions lost patience with Juventus directors after the Old Lady refused to re-sign the French forward in August as both clubs had been in talks for several weeks after Kolo Muani spent the second part of the 2024-25 season on loan in Turin.

However, the two clubs never reached an agreement over the transfer package and fee, resulting in the Bianconeri signing Lois Openda from RB Leipzig instead. “You’ve been messing with us for several weeks; this ends now,” Al-Khelaifi reportedly told Juventus directors.

“You won’t get your day with me. I’ll remember your methods; you can count on that.” Right afterwards, Al-Khelaifi reportedly urged the striker’s agent to find a solution for this client, who ultimately joined Tottenham on deadline day which is a straight loan with no obligation or option to buy.

Other media, including L’Equipe, had already reported that PSG were unhappy with Juventus’ attitude during negotiations. It’s been widely reported that the 26-year-old had given priority to a return to Juve where he scored 10 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions in 2024-25.
