“He’s (Hazard) going to play because he’s trained well and he deserves it. He hasn’t changed mentally – the problem has been that he hasn’t always been able to train at 100%, as he is now. Carlo Ancelotti said during his pre-match conference.

“He’s prepared going by what he’s shown in training. He wasn’t used to playing on the right, and I preferred Rodrygo and [Marco] Asensio there. But he has everything to put up a good second half of the season and prove important and useful for the team.”

The Los Blancos had a Covid-19 outbreak in their squad this week and could have several players unavailable as a result. Long term injury absentee, Dani Ceballos has been included in the Real Madrid squad to face Cadiz, his first since suffering an injury while on international duty with Spain at the Olympics games.

Ceballos, who went out on loan to Arsenal in the past two seasons is expected to at least start from the bench and could get some minutes depending on how the match progresses.

It is expected that Nacho Fernandez will also replace the injured Dani Carvajal in the starting lineup of the Los Blancos after the squad was ravaged by injuries and Covid-19 with the likes of Marcelo, Rodrygo Goes and Marco Asensioset to be out due to Covid-19 while the likes of Karim Benzema (injury), and Luka Modric (Covid-19) remain doubtful.

“I was never overawed by playing with the likes of Zidane”, stated the 42-year-old. “But this one time, it hit me. I was with my family in the players lounge and the scorers names appeared on the big screen: Eto’o. Ronaldinho. Zidane. Ronaldo. Raul. Owen.

“Me and my dad looked at it… “F***ing hell”. In that one moment, it all felt so right. Owen, who had just won the Ballon D’or in 2001 before his transfer to Real Madrid would go on score 16 goals in 45 appearances in 2004/05, before joining Newcastle United 12 months after arriving in Spain.
