Due to his eye-catching performances, Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to go head-to-head in pursuit of him among a host of other clubs.
He joined Sampdoria from Nordsjaelland in the summer of 2020 and the club resisted all offers for him last summer but will have a huge fight in their hand to keep hold of him if he continues to impress.
Barcelona have struggled to put opponents away, with injuries further compounding their misery while Madrid are reportedly looking to offload Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Gareth Bale, who have all been sub-par recently.
Damsgaard on his part would gladly join either one of the two teams as it would represent an ungrade on his current team but the teams in the Italian League shouldn’t be ruled out of the running for him as they have been scouting him for much longer but they can’t compete with the Spanish teams in terms of finances.
Tottenham Hotspur, after the appointment of Antonio Conte could be another destination for him as Conte was the coach of Inter Milan last season and got to see the player in action and with the club desperately seeking for reinforcements, they could dive in with a reasonable bid to beat the other competitions.
Meanwhile…
Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has suffered yet another injury blow while playing for Wales during the international break.

The veteran forward hadn’t played a single minute for Los Blancos following an injury that kept him out from late September until last week but he still left for international duty last week and has now suffered another injury and could signal the end of his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He played around 45 minutes for his country, earning his 100th cap but he has now returned to Real Madrid for tests on a calf injury to determine the extent of the setback.
