When Denmark lost Christian Eriksen to a heart issue during the Euros, one of the players who was responsible for lifting the Danish team to the Semi-final of the tournament, losing to England in extra time was Sampdoria winger, Mikkel Damsgaard.

The veteran forward hadn’t played a single minute for Los Blancos following an injury that kept him out from late September until last week but he still left for international duty last week and has now suffered another injury and could signal the end of his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He played around 45 minutes for his country, earning his 100th cap but he has now returned to Real Madrid for tests on a calf injury to determine the extent of the setback.
