More Details
Benzema has been with Los Blancos for almost to a decade, having joined from Lyon in 2009.
Since then, he has 202 La Liga goals in 394 games, earning three league titles and four Champions Leagues along the road, as well as a slew of other trophies.
Benzema has only progressed in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, now 33 and in the finest scoring form of his career.
He scored 30 goals in all competitions last season, his finest season to date, and he has already scored 14 goals this season.
Following the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos, Benzema has emerged as Real Madrid’s undisputed superstar, and he is relishing the opportunity.
Real Madrid director – and former Los Blancos striker – Butragueo believes Benzema is already a club legend for what he has accomplished during his time at the club.
“it is a delight to see him play” Butragueño told Diario AS. Those who improve the game are the most important players.
“You give the ball to Benzema and the game improves. He has enormous resources and enormous talent to play inside the area.
“His performances are exceptional. In recent years, he has assumed a big responsibility and has responded to expectations.
“He is already a legend of Real Madrid and I hope he will be with us for many more years.”

Meanwhile…
Dries Mertens has remarked on Eden Hazard’s lack of playing time under Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. Hazard is now on international duty with Belgium, where he will be afforded far more attention than he has had at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mertens is familiar with Ancelotti, having worked with him at Napoli. When discussing Hazard’s concerns, he added, “I think I’m going to have to contact Carlo because he’s not being fair.” “No, I’m kidding. Eden has a fantastic outlook on life and believes that things will improve. It’s a shame there’s a youngster in his place who is doing well and Real Madrid are winning games. However, it takes time. All good footballers earn minutes over time, and I’m confident he’ll play again.
After coach Roberto Martinez, Mertens is the second member of the Belgian camp to come out in support of Hazard this week. Hazard has only played 347 minutes in the league under Ancelotti so far this season, failing to score and only assisting once.
