Former Chelsea boss, Emma Hayes is set to lead the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) at this summer Olympics and released her final 18-player roster on Wednesday.

The roster comprises the goalkeepers from the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL); North Carolina Courage’s Casey Murphy and Chicago Red Stars’ Alyssa Naeher.

Five out of the six defenders invited for the women’s football event of the Olympics are also from the NWSL save for Arsenal FC’s Emily Fox.

Three foreign-based midfielders made up the squad including Korbin Albert (PSG), Lindsey Horan (Lyon), and Hayes player at Chelsea FC, Catarina Macario.

Five forwards in the team heading to Paris are from the NWSL in the American league-dominated roster.

USWNT will face Germany, Zambia, and Australia in Group B of the women's football event of the Olympics.

This will be the first tournament for Hayes as head coach of the team.
