Emma Hayes Recalls Rodman As USWNT Names Youthful Squad For Paraguay, Chile Friendlies
USWNT head coach Emma Hayes has unveiled a 26-player roster for the United States’ upcoming international friendlies against Paraguay and Chile, marking a reunion of familiar faces alongside a new wave of emerging talent.
More Details
The headline return is star forward Trinity Rodman, who has been listed as “unattached” and included for the first time since April 2025. Rodman missed much of the latter part of the NWSL season after suffering an MCL sprain, which limited her postseason involvement, but Hayes confirmed the 21-year-old has given the green light regarding her fitness.
“When it comes to the playing front, I don’t know where she’s at physically,” Hayes told reporters.
“But if she gives me the thumbs-up, which she has done, to say, ‘I’m good, I’m in a good place,’ I have to take that at her word.”

The roster selection comes with notable caveats. With the camp falling outside an official FIFA international window, Hayes was restricted to NWSL-based players, while Gotham FC players preparing for the Women’s Champions Cup were also unavailable for selection.
As a result, the squad skews young and relatively inexperienced, averaging just 6.6 international caps per player. The lineup includes four first-time call-ups: Maddie Dahlien (Seattle Reign), Reilyn Turner (Portland Thorns), Riley Jackson (North Carolina Courage), and Sally Menti (Seattle Reign).
Hayes emphasized that the matches are as much about evaluation as results, as she continues to shape the next phase of the USWNT cycle.

“Once again, our roster presents opportunity,” Hayes said.
“For the coaching staff to evaluate players, for some NWSL players we haven’t seen as much in the National Team environment, and for some first-time call-ups to show they can contribute in 2026, 2027, or beyond.”
The friendlies against Paraguay and Chile will provide a valuable testing ground for fringe players and newcomers, while also allowing Hayes to reintegrate key figures like Rodman as preparations intensify toward the next major international competitions.
