The Lionesses, led by head coach Sarina Wiegman, made history by defending their European crown with a dramatic victory over Spain in the final — winning 3-1 on penalties after extra time ended 1-1.

The celebration reached an emotional and unforgettable peak when event host and former Lioness Alex Scott surprised Wiegman on stage by introducing her “favourite artist,” Nigerian global superstar Burna Boy.

Overcome with excitement, Wiegman exclaimed, “Oh, no way!” before joining Burna Boy for a joyful rendition of his hit song “For Your Hand”, dancing and singing alongside her players in front of a cheering crowd.

“It was an incredible moment. This team means the world to me, and sharing this with our fans—and Burna Boy!—is something I’ll never forget,” said Wiegman.

Goals from Alessia Russo and Mariona Caldentey saw the final finish 1-1 in regulation, with England clinching the title in a tense shootout.

Following the parade, players will enjoy a short break before the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) season kicks off on September 5, with reigning champions Chelsea set to face Manchester City in the opening fixture.
