English Women’s Super League (WSL) winners Chelsea FC joined three top-flight sides in qualifying for the FA Cup semifinals.

Sonia Bompastor’s side edged fellow WSL side Crystal Palace 1-0 in the quarter-final at the Kingsmeadow, London, on Sunday.

Lauren James’ 64th-minute goal separated both sides, lifting the Blues to the last four.

Earlier, Liverpool stunned another London-based side, Arsenal FC, 1-0 to make it to the semifinals.



Daphne van Domselaar’s own goal in the 78th minute won the match for the Merseyside side.

At the Academy Stadium, Manchester City defeated Aston Villa 2-0 in the other quarter-final game.

Khadija Shaw and Jessica Park found the back of the net for the Manchester-based side with two second-half goals.

On Saturday, another WSL side, Manchester United, beat Championship outfit Sunderland 2-1.

Leah Galton, Maya La Tissier, and Ella Tonne scored for the Reds while Louise Griffiths converted a goal for Sunderland.
