Eredivisie Side Closing In On Move For Tottenham Hotspur Forward – Report

Written By Albert Echatah

Troy Parrott, a 22-year-old forward, is reportedly close to leaving Tottenham Hotspur for AZ Alkmaar of the Eredivisie in a £6.7 million move.

More Details

After leaving Belvedere FC in 2017, the Republic of Ireland international joined the Lilywhites and spent seven years developing his career in Tottenham’s development systems.

Parrott’s incredible 14 goals in just nine Under-18 Premier League games during the 2018–19 season helped him establish himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting lineup.

The Irish attacker is reportedly close to returning permanently to the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar, who have agreed to pay him €8 million (£6.7 million) for his services, according to football.london.

Parrott was also rumoured to have won over championship teams and Italian clubs. Parrott hoped to eventually break through at Tottenham, maybe as Harry Kane’s long-term replacement.

The 22-year-old, nevertheless, has had a difficult time lately due to injuries, which kept him from making an impact under Postecoglou last summer. He only has four senior matches to his credit.

If Parrott’s transfer goes through as planned, he will join Tanguy Ndombele, Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, and Joe Rodon as the seventh player to depart Tottenham this summer.

However, only Rodon has made any money; the Lilywhites signed Archie Grey from the Championship team and sold the Welshman to Leeds United for over £10 million.
