Lamela spent eight years in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, appearing in 177 league games throughout that period.
Before joining Sevilla as part of the Bryan Gil trade this summer, the Argentine had a mixed time in north London.
Since then, the 29-year-old has wowed, scoring four goals in 11 games as part of Sevilla’s strong start to the season, which has them right in the middle of the title battle.
As things stand, Julen Lopetegui’s side are just one point behind the leaders with a game in hand, and Lamela has been a big part of that start.
But how does he compare the two leagues now that he has played in both the Premier League and La Liga?
“I feel okay on the right,” he told Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday. “At first, it was a lot for me, but now I understand it better and that’s what the coach demands of me.”
“It’s normal because I came from another football and another coach.
“La Liga is totally different, more tactical and more technical than physical like the Premier League.”

Meanwhile…
According to multiple reports, Manchester United are once again interested in signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who missed out on a move to Chelsea in the summer.
Kounde is one of Europe’s most in-demand centre-backs. He is soon to turn 23, and while he has a lot of experience, he still has opportunity to grow. He has made 102 appearances for Sevilla since arriving from Bordeaux in 2019.
Kounde’s career high point thus far has been winning the Europa League with Sevilla at the end of his first season in Spain. Since then, he has been at Champions League level, and there is still a belief that he may progress to a better team.
